Sudan's Federal Ministry of Health, represented by the General Directorate for Emergencies and Epidemic Control, has announced the suspension of international vaccination services and centers at Khartoum and Port Sudan airports, effective August 10, 2026.
What does this decision mean?
Travelers can no longer obtain or renew their International Certificate of Vaccination (Yellow Fever Card) directly at Khartoum or Port Sudan airports before departure. According to the Ministry, this service is now available exclusively through a number of approved health centers within the cities, meaning travelers must complete the procedure in advance, before heading to the airport.
Approved alternative health centers
The Ministry has designated the following centers for issuing the International Vaccination Certificate:
First: Khartoum State
- Al-Qumsiyon Al-Tibbi (Medical Commission) – Omdurman, Al-Hara Al-Thania.
- Al-Iskan (75) Health Center – Omdurman, Al-Thawra.
- Military Medical Corps – Omdurman.
Second: Red Sea State
- The International Vaccination Center in Port Sudan, near Al-Fanar Pharmacy.
What should travelers do?
The Ministry advises all travelers departing via Khartoum and Port Sudan airports to complete their vaccination procedures and obtain the International Vaccination Certificate in advance from one of the approved centers listed above, with enough time before heading to the airport, to avoid any delay or disruption to their travel arrangements on the day of the flight.
